Office Depot/Old Spice Chevrolet Gets New Colors for Chicagoland
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (July 9, 2009) – It took crewmen at Stewart-Haas Racing six hours to wrap the team’s No. 14 Office Depot/Old Spice Chevrolet Impala SS in a back-to-school paint scheme that will run during this weekend’s LifeLock.com 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill.
However, seeing how the wrap was affixed to Tony Stewart’s ride, which has now won two races so far this season, including last Saturday night’s Coke Zero 400 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, takes a little more than a minute. Click here to download the video to see time-lapse imagery of how the No. 14 Office Depot/Old Spice “Back-to-School” Chevrolet came to life.
The scheme sports all the supplies one’s child needs to be ready to “Go Back Smarter” for the coming school year. An array of crayon colors punctuates the nose and hood, while pens, pencils and highlighters adorn the sides of the car. The cover of a composition notebook covers the roof and rear decklid, and according to the nametag on the decklid, the notebook apparently belongs to the “Teacher’s Pet,” so there is some question as to whether it was Stewart’s during his time at Columbus (Ind.) North High School (Class of 1989), or that of Stewart’s crew chief Darian Grubb, who graduated from Virginia Tech in 1998 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Of course, all of the supplies featured on the No. 14 Office Depot/Old Spice “Back-to-School” Chevrolet Impala SS can be found at Office Depot.
