Rain canceled Friday’s qualifying session for the MyAFibStory.com 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. As a result, the 43-car field for Sunday’s 267-lap event around the 1.5-mile oval was set by taking the fastest lap each driver posted during Friday’s practice session, per the NASCAR rulebook.

Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Jimmy John’s Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), will start 12th. Kurt Busch, driver of the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet for SHR, will start 14th. Danica Patrick, driver of the No. 10 GoDaddy Chevrolet SS for SHR, will start 18th. Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 14 Mobil 1/Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet SS for SHR, will start 22nd.

Harvick’s fast lap in practice was 28.334 seconds at 190.584 mph. Busch timed in at 28.353 seconds at 190.456 mph. Patrick stopped the clock in 28.435 seconds at 189.907 mph. Stewart turned a lap of 28.505 seconds at 189.440 mph.

Kyle Busch will start first as he posted the fastest speed in Friday’s practice session with a lap of 28.207 seconds at 191.442 mph. Joining him on the outside of row one is Ryan Newman, who timed in at 28.266 seconds at 191.042 mph. Carl Edwards (28.269 seconds at 191.022 mph), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (28.272 seconds at 191.002 mph) and Matt Kenseth (28.287 seconds at 190.900 mph) comprised the remainder of the top-five.

The MyAFibStory.com 400 gets underway at 2 p.m. EDT Sunday with live coverage provided by ESPN beginning with a pre-race show at 1 p.m.
