While he held the dual-role of driver and team owner in the NASCAR Cup Series through 2016, it was hardly a new challenge to Tony, he's already shown that he can take care of business as a team owner in both the United States Auto Club (USAC) and World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series. His team, Tony Stewart Racing (TSR), fields one entry in the WoO Sprint Car Series while fielding an additional Sprint car for Stewart now that he has relinquished his driving duties in the NASCAR Cup Series.
In WoO, TSR fields the No. 15 Carquest Auto Parts sprint car for ten-time champion Donny Schatz and the No. 14 Rush Truck Centers sprint car for Stewart.
On October 14th, 2021, Tony announced that TSR will be joining the NHRA in 2022 with two full time entries: one in Top Fuel for Leah Pruett and one in Funny Car for Matt Hagan. The 2022 NHRA season will kick off at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, CA on February 17-20.
Since its formation, TSR has earned twenty-eight owner championships, the most recent of which was Schatz's World of Outlaws championship in 2018.
